Or, rather, let’s talk Safe sunscreen ingredients.

 I think we are all aware of the importance of sunscreen. But are you aware that there are certain sunscreens that are safer than others? When it comes to sunscreen, there are definitely some ingredients you’re going to want to keep an eye out for like oxybenzone.

Oxybenzone is found in a LOT of sunscreens. The Environmental Working Group (EWG) and other toxicology experts are concerned that there is a link between oxybenzone, hormone disruption and allergies. And some evidence has shown that oxybenzone potentially causes cell damage (attacking DNA cells) as a photocarcinogen, which may lead to skin cancer. It's also damaging to coral reefs even when its present in a low concentration.

But! The good news is, there are sunscreens that don't contain this harmful ingredient and I want to share my top picks with all of you!

Badger SPF 30 Clear Zinc Sunscreen

This is a solid option. My only complaint is that it is a tad bit greasy but it’s kind of nice to have that glow look when you’re rocking a summer tan!

I struggled to find a toxin-free facial SPF that didn't feel incredibly greasy on my face or make me as white as a ghost. It rubs in the skin beautifully AND I swear it helps the makeup perform even better! Honestly the best thing you can do is switch to a mineral based SPF.
